In the cold European air, I painted directly (en plein air) the Selimiye Mosque, Edirne Turkey. This 55 meter high four tower building is Mimar Sinan’s masterpiece which was built over 6 years since 1568, under the reign of Caliph Sultan Selim II.
My trip to Turkey was a prize for “The Winner of the Trip to Turkey Art Competition ‘Heritage of Ottoman’, held by Terang Trip 2020”.
